Delusion and Delude

Two simple pictures I did for my APAD project with StereoBox.

Delusion

Delude

Just a random thought yesterday night,

Sometimes I just carry on believing on things i want to believe.
Ignorant perhaps. Naive maybe. No other choice not really - there is always another choice, isn't it?

Eventhough it is wrong,
eventhough it might not be the best way,
at least there is no regret - i already did my best.


As usual, constructive comment & critique very welcome.

I tried that actually but not really satisfied with the result. So do the guy at second picture, i asked him to do the pose like the girl but result also 'something sengek' there.

its her habit to use eyeliner. I mean... her without eyeliner wont be her. ( doesnt make sense? lol )

I seldom tell my models to use certain make up. I let them present themselves as they want. Some use a lot of eyeliners like this girl, some no make up at all. After all it's them as themselves that interest me.
Only some minor case when i find it 'salah'. I prefer to give as little instruction as possible. After all im not good in instructing also XD

Like the first one due to its interesting juxtaposition, the ultra white eyes is not my cup of tea though.

The second one has greater potential than the first one, but I would like to see more grainy texture on the fingers to frame the eye instead of dodging them out.

THat is all keep on shooting dude !

thanks for the comment. It's actually interesting that some request me to push up the exposure for second picture, while some prefer to have some grainy tone. I guess that's what's interesting about photography. It's all the matter of personal taste.

Sure, will shoot more as long as there is enough free time. Quite busy nowadays T_T

Make it more clear, this is what i want to achieve.

First picture, I want to show a stubborn girl who keep on believing on what she want to believe. Somehow she know it's wrong - she just want to hold on to that no matter what.
Second picture, I want to show this guy who finally gave up on his personal view. He end up belive what the public told him to believe. It's against his personal believe, however he just too tired to fight for his own view - so he just gave up and follow the stream.

So hands in the first picture is more that the girl 'close' herself from public views, while the hands on the second picture is more that the public view that actually won over the guy's personal belief.

Does it make sense? Do you guys think it's work?

as a literal translation it works but I think that's the problem it's too literal

I believe mattlock can bring the concept to its best =)

Too literal... well, i can consider that too. Things is, how far i can bring it out of the usual way without making it total nonsense? As in, I would love to give few more try and see how far can i go beyond literal representation but still understandable. That would be one interesting case to work on.

But anyway, i'm happy wif the pictures XD And will make lotsa lotsa lotsa more pictures that make me even even even more happier =D ( now that i hope this sentence will comes true =p )

I have looked at these two images and just cannot connect the images to the descriptions of the image.

The first appears to me a sense of fear of expressing/telling something terrible that one was a witness to.

The second? I do not know what to say. The fingers appear to be trying to pry open the eye, but there is little tension and sense of purpose. Maybe that is why you call it "delude"?

As an image itself, I find the first more interesting, as if there was a question unanswered.

The second is too messy for my liking. Grain or not is immaterial. I am not sure if you can "push up" the exposure any more. The fingers are already "white"!

Perhaps i dont choose exactly the correct title?
But anyway I choose the title based on this.
delusion : a persistent false belief held in the face of strong contradictory evidence
delude : to persuade somebody to believe in something that is untrue or unreal

The first one i want it more to, "I know it was wrong, but I dont care." something like that. Second one, I want to give a sense of give up but left a bit of 'hope'. Just a very thin layer of hope. perhaps that's what the tension comes from.

Hi,

I meant "her" left hand, where you see a bit of lower nose.

#2 I guess that to say,"I don't like it" is a wrong description.
All I can put is it doesn't do anything for me.
