My 300D is getting old now, first dead pixel appear last week. The pixel is white. Exposure time doesnt matter, even with 1/4000s exposure that pixel is white.

Have anyone faced this problem here? Can it be repair or fixed in some way? How much does Canon charge to repair this? Obviously no warranty for my cam, since many yrs old already. Thx.

Got my 300D in February 2004 and only today noticed a glowing green pixel on my long exposures.
It's a hot pixel

even my 1-series has hot pixels on long exposure..but noise reduction function eliminates that problem. anway, hot pixel is not the same as dead/stuck pixel...so let's not OT

oh! Sorry +evenstar, I didn't know any better. Thanks for telling me :) I thought it was the same. Now I know :)

Long exposure --> hot pixels on MOST cameras. They can be corrected during PP or in camera NR. Dead pixel is different.

Yes, sorry for the OT, +evenstar has corrected me and brought it back on track now :)

No probs, but has anyone gone thru this and care to share your experience?

Hmmm.. guess no one got dead pixel in singapore ? :p

yah, hot pixel, how you guys deal with it?
