Dad's old radio set

I went back to my hometown, Kelantan, Malaysia during recent Deepavali. I found out my dad's old radio set still workable! The radio hi-fi set is from Pioneer. I try to took a picture of it, but was underexpose because my room was a bit dark, hence I modified it with photoshop, hopefully to give some classic/old feeling...

Newbie here... I find that the black patch at the top left portion of the picture distracting.. Maybe you can crop that out =)

btw, what equipment are you using? and what were the settings for the shot?

The camera I using is S602z, the setting is around F2.8, 1/5 sec. The time the photo was taken was at midnight 12+...

The software I use is Photoshop 7.

Free hand? The image is sharp

Yes, free hand...I din't bring my tripod along when back to my hometown.

wat did u do specifically in PS to change the exposure ? looks very natural to me.

Thanks spitfire.
First I do a curve, to make the photo brighter without losing contrast, then I do a blur to to the backgroudn to increase the DOF. The last step I did is increase the color tone of cyan in color balance option.
