Hi guys like to check with all the D90 user do your camera hang ?
Around 1 year D90 lens 18-200 VR

Encounter when taking photo in M mode the Aperture stay at F90 cannot adjust, shatter speed can be adjust and looking in the viewfinder the focusing point is on the right side but i didn't even press the shutter-release button. When you take a shot the control panel will show Err and i cannot do anything OFF the power is still show Err..

Try taking out battery and memory card and put it in again the Aperture still stay at F90 . Try switch to all other mode A,M,S,P and AUTO and try taking it again Err again. what happen check USER MANUAL try all the thing that the user manual teach still cannot. last in the line Camera malfunction(Solution-Consult Nikon-authorized service representative).

Anyone can help before i go visit them tomorrow ?

Not from Nikon camp, but have you tried to remove the lens and put it back?

Agree with skystrike, it might be connection problem with the lens. You might want to remove the lens, clean the contact from both lens and camera, put the lens back and try.

Oh... and if you have other lens, try other lens too... it might be ur lens problem rather than your camera problem.

F90?
The min f-stop for 18-200 is F90?

Unmounted and remount your lens is the best solution. Swap mount another lens then swap back also can

not sure about Nikon Lenses. but i encountered a problem before with my system. the lens contacts were dirty. all i did was to unmount the lens, wipe the contacts and the camera worked fine after that.

It's a basic problem covering almost all electronic devices.

Just make sure you use DRY cloth (pref fine microfiber) and/or with air spray to clean the contacts. AFAIK most electronic/metal components hates wet stuffs (that includes alcoholic wipes)

hmmm... how does it hang?? ;lol...
If it hangs downwards it's normal, upwards you are excited, left or right, I suggest u see a doctor:bsmilie:

On a more serious note, i have experienced this on my D7000 too, the camera refused to turn on and no battery was detected, it was fine after I cleaned the contacts.

Thanks guys. If not for this forum, I would have sent in my D90 and embarrassed myself at the service centre.
