D800e backfocus

Hi,

My friend bought a new D800e locally and found out that during the continuous shooting mode, the focusing seems to be doing better on the subject further (back focus).

I suggested to him to try get the new update which deals with the left focusing. He mentioned something that the firmware is the latest version. Wanna ask how to identify if the latest firmware is up to date and with the latest patch?

Any suggestions?
