D7100 User thread

weee!! saw the LR update from my fren!

Saw from the specifications that D7100 does not have a low pass filter.

Have not seen more articles about the details of the filter system.

The D800E have no low pass filter to make it sharper with a backlash on false colors. Is D7100 similar?

You can see the samples posted and see for yourself. But in personally feel that things are sharper if you zoom in closer into the image

It appears that the D7100 has no optical low pass filter at all, whereas the D800E has 2 of them, which effectively cancel each other out.
The goal is similar: increase fine detail at the risk of moire showing up...

From DPReview:
In a first for Nikon, the D7100's sensor lacks an optical low-pass filter (OLPF). The D800E, Nikon's highest-resolution DSLR has the effect of its OLPF 'cancelled out', but the D7100, like the Pentax K-5 IIs, omits it altogether.

any left focus or dust issue so far?

hopefully this one will be free of focus/dust problems (cause by shutter)... this will be a winner!

no problem with mine so far too.. loving it! just not liking it coupled with tamron 24-70.. AF kinda slow reaction
