Hi, would like to start a thread to discuss about newly launched D7000. Kindly share all resources available and comparision. Hope we can get some idea, at least for now, comparison with D90. Another group of users will also try to get D90 as the price and goodies might be very attractive now. So, let's share the info here.

from the look of it ...

its between a d300 and d90. 16mp , high iso.. body's slightly like d300 with CL and CH from the looks..

39af VS 11af ... a vast improvement

very tempting.. but would like to know the price before upgrading :)

from the review looks very promising. Now is waiting for comparision photos and drawbacks (plus feedback from 1st batch users). Phew! At least the Magnesium alloy body solve one of the headache (comparing to buying D90 and D300s) for me.

It's selling at USD1499 with 18-55 VR kit lens according to dpreview.com
But according to Nikon Singapore, it will come with 18-105mm VR kit lens, I think the price will be around SGD2200. So expensive!

You can forget the kit lens... It will be below 1.9K....

You mean it will be selling below SGD1900 (body only) in Singapore?

Or there abouts... the AF-S 18-55 VR costs 330 new. You do the math... Give it a few months of sinking into the market, the price will be even lower!

then buy from amazon loh. preorder price 1199USD body only, or 1499USD with 18105VR

The D7000 features totally surpass the D300s except the frame rate, I wonder who will buy the D300s. The price also cheaper than D300s. Nikon do it all right again, kudos Nikon.

I see. But for me, I think my next upgrade from D90 will be FX instead of D7000

the sensor has a base ISO of 100.... Is nikon using a totally different line of sensor?

What happen to the sensor from D3s? Somehow that did not carry over to D300s or D7000...

Seems like the ISO quite good man...even Chase Jarvis says its on par with D700 wow. Some more it's comparable to D3 model..cannot believe :bigeyes:

ISO performance of D7000

Nolar, D300s has 51 focus points with 15 cross-type sensor but D7000 only has 39 focus points with 9 cross-type sensor.
Anyway, new model for D300s will be out next year, which is supposed to be better than D300s and D7000. No ending lor :bsmilie:

16 Megapixies worth...should be new sensor. Some of us are contemplating whether D300s replacement will have FF sensors eventually...

Looks promising. Maybe will consider this instead of 550D but then again its 2 different classes already.
Hopefully the price is good.

It's justttt...getting better and better but my pocket depth still remain the same :(
