D7000 auto white balance

Thank you all for their inputs! I do shoot in raw and have been doing minor adjustments. So I guess it is normal that the auto wb is not that accurate sometimes.

Just another question, what about weird skin tones? Looks like mannequin, 'plastic-ky'. Is white balance the cause of it?

When does it look like that? Straight from the cam or on pictures you see here? In case of the latter it's mostly due to over-processing with Photoshop & Co. The Portraits & Poses section has many examples.

The new D7000 has 2 auto WB... WB1 and WB2, WB1 will make warm lighting into neutral WB... WB2 will retain the warm WB...

However WB1 sometime the image become too "blue";)

I think the best way is still shooting it in RAW format (zero cost). Can be easily edited in Photoshop.

not really zero cost. jpg files take up less space in your card. but like many have said, just shoot raw and buy a bigger/more sd/cf card if you lack the space.
