D70 firmware, hidden focus fix?

Any of you noticed whether the output from your D70s seem to be sharper after upgrading to the 1.01/1.02 firmware? An interesting thread in dpreview.com seems to suggest so. Since Nikon didn't officially admit to the backfocus/autofocus issues that plagued a number of D70s worldwide, I wouldn't be surprised if they slipped in a software fix/calibration for the camera via the latest firmware, which didn't fix anything major anyway. After all, many D70 users who sent back their D70 to Nikon service centers in the past months reported that they did a software fix to correct for the backfocus issus :dunno:

What do you guys think?

my D70 is still suffering from back focus problem.
Just too busy the past weeks but will send for repair by next week.

just collected back my d70 for back focus problem and firmware upgrade.

will test it later to see if problem fixed. wish me luck.

hi guys, may i know where is the nikon service centre? Do i have to book in advance for them to service the back focusing or just walk-in will do? :dunno: Tks

can just walk-in, but don't expect immediate servicing, esp during peak periods. normally they'd take a few days to do it.
