Hi guys,

Need your help if you have a D600 and a 24mm lens (24-70, 24mm, 24-120mm)

I noticed the right-most mid-section AF point will fail to focus at 24mm. I had tried to drop that AF point on high contrast objects in good light and still the AF point hunts.

However there were no problems on other AF points at 24mm. There were also no AF problems at other focal lengths more than 24mm.

Below is the AF Point

Got try send to NSC to calibrate the D600? Get them to try out on the spot.

Is it D600 focus points? D600 has 39 AF points.
Yours are lesser.

Not that I have noticed on the 24-70.

It could be just a dirt or dust blocking the AF sensor (located at the lower part of the mirror box).
Try to do a mirror lock up and use a blower to blow away the dirt

Out of curiosity, tested on a few bodies with my copy of 24-70.

D600s (using right most point - as depicted)
24-70
- Hunts slightly on low light

17-35
- Hunts slightly.

85 1.4 (manual)
- Can't lock on when subject about 2m away (no dot in VF, only '> <' ).

D4 (using right most center point)
24-70
- Spot on

D2X (using right most center point - only 9 AF point here)
24-70
- Spot on

Hope this helps.
