Newbie question here!

Want to get a D60 soon, but is there a wide range of lenses?
Just a student starting out, so there's no need for any pro kind yet.

Any F mount Nikon lenses can be used. But with or wothout AF support, that is another issue.

Only those with AF-S (i.e. an internal focusing motor) will offer AF support to this camera as this camera body model does not have a focusing motor in the camera itself. Thus older AF lenses will need to be used in manual focusing.

Just get the D60 and use the kit lens till you're exhausted! That should cover you for a large percentage of the shots you would normally take. Until you find your niche or special interest area, then get the appropriate lens to expand into that area.
