My Camera is Nikon D40x and lens is AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED mm .
But it doesn't autofocus when pressing the button half.
Can anyone suggest me?

Do u have another lens to try?

I tried my body with 70-300mm VR lens that support AF but sadly it's doesn't work.

1. RESET the camera in the MENU .
2. Did U switch the AF/MF button on the lens to MF ?
3. If everythings fail, time to visit Nikon Service Centre.

Hi drmarx,

1. Press "Info" button and check the AF setting. It should be "AF-A" or "AF-S" and not "MF". If not, use "i" button to set it back to "AF-A".
2. Check the switch on the lens. It should be at "A' and not "M".
3. Switch off your camera, unmount the lens, mount it, and try again.

If all of the above doesn't correct the problem, you'd probably need to make a trip to NSC.

Thanks Guys. I went to NSC and it's my Lens problem.
