What will happen will after exceeding and not sent for service? If really need to service, how much would it be?

Very curious. ^^

Yes, my camera exceeded shutter count almost double on what they rated. So don't worry so much.

Nothing will happen, but if you're shooting an important event, better get a back up camera.
Anyway, if it's very special event, even if you're using a brand new camera, you still need a back up camera

Every camera model has an estimated shutter count. It is an average that is meant to estimate the life of your shutter mechanism. Some cameras never make it to their estimated shutter count and some exceed it by a large margin.

There is no need to bring your camera for servicing until the shutter actually stops working. When this happens, bring it in to the service centre and have them replace it with a new one. Depending on your camera make and model the cost will vary.

Using the Canon 60D as an example, it has an estimated (average) shutter count of 100,000 actuation's. The cost to replace the shutter mechanism would be approximately $250-$300.

Camera will explode. :)

Life expectancy of singaporean is 80, What happen when one reach 80? Just carry on, isn't it?;)

With the usual buy & sell turnover / model change / model release cycles and the usual buying habits here .. do you really think there are many people who can positively answer this question? :bsmilie:

Every picture you will take will have a screw wrench symbol pasted across the frame, reminding you to bring your camera for servicing.
Service Centers have standard rates for changing shutters. Check the contact numbers and websites. Do some homework, man.

dont really have to worry about shutter counts. 100k is a huge number! dont worry just shoot!
