heh heh heh .... at last ...... the 4th edition of the trip is starting to turn its wheels!!!

This year, the core organizing committee will comprise members from PhotoMalaysia and it looks like they are going ALL OUT to impress us with the wild inner hinterland of inner Borneo .... most likely with Kota Kinabalu as the LAST stop at the end of the adventure.

They're leaving soon for a recce trip. Those keen on going for the recce trip please get in touch with Digitalartist (Yusuf) ..... I understand that AirAsia flies budget from JB to Tawau (Sabah)

Their thread with more information on planning stages (currently) is located here:

and here.....

ONCE THE RECCE TRIP IS COMPLETED and details worked out between Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and ourselves in Singapore, I'll be posting more details....!!!!

FYI Yusuf Hashim is one of the country's Who's Who of Malaysian Explorers and Adventurers. This guy has motorcycled from Europe to Malaysia, done the Silk Route the hard way, just returned from 2 months in South America by 4x4, traversed the Kalahari, done Tibet overland by 4x4 etc etc etc..... the Malaysian Indiana Jones and an all round funny guy and Mr Nice. Those of you who were on Crossing Bridges 3 last year will certainly attest to his good, easy-going, a-laugh-a-minute nature.

will try to get this thread kept as a sticky.

Although not a backpacker type outing..... we try to keep costs as low as possible.... and more importantly..... waiting-here-waiting-there time to a bare minimum (I also cannot tahan waiting for too long)

Ideal profile of a typical photographer who will enjoy a trip like Crossing Bridges:

1. happy go lucky attitude, not too serious and in friend-making mode
2. able and want to have fun
3. does not worry about eating from sterilized silverwear
4. reasonably fit (alot of walking)
5. can get by with 4-6 hrs sleep daily and get out of bed early
6. able to ingest most types of food
7. very willing to help the ladies with carrying their equiptment
8. able and willing to take on some trip responsibilities (and be responsible)
9. not be a complain-king/queen
10. able to live out of a hand-carry (Aircraft overhead luggage compartment capacity) sized luggage for almost a week (yes, we have had some come for the trip with huge giant-sized Samsonite European-holiday type luggages) (Others have lived 5 full days on ONE pair of underwear, 2 t-shirts, 1 pair of extra shorts and 1 toothpaste/toothbrush)

hahaha... the profile mentioned suits me well... hahaha.

joined a photography trip to Siem Reap for 5 days and i travelled real light. just one standard haversack.

This sounds like fun! Hopefully there are more ladies signing up so I won't feel so left-out! Let us know the dates asap so I can apply for my work & school leave! Yay!

please all, be a little patient as the recce trip gets underway.....

Dear Organiser, Please CHOOP a place for me...:)
