hi, im new to photography. Had seen alot of shots in clubsnap, and i find that those with black borders look nice. And there will be something like photography by: xyz.
can i know how to create those borders and insert word into it?

:dunno:

isit really necessary to use photoshop? seem like i will have the need to go get one.

well TECHNICALLY you could use paint

but it is literally painful to do it that way

otherwise, almost every basic imaging software will be able to do it. i think picasa can, but i'm not too sure

you should get a more advanced one eventually to do adjustments to your photos though.

I think if use MS paint, it will lose the details of the photos.

try google for PhotoCap. a free taiwanese image editing s/w. it also has an english version. quite easy to make border with it.

what if i scan i a picture frame via flatbed, than past the photo onto the frame?:think:

I recommend The Gimp. (it's a freeware btw)

Under Decor options, you apply many variations or just a simple black border.
