Ehm,

I got an old mac with old CS photoshop.
When i try to use it to open the CR2 file, it says that it cannot reconignise the format.
Means i will have to upgrade my software?
Any other work around?

No. You must upgrade. Or convert the old file to DNG.

Upgrade..... super expensive sob sob.....
Hmmmm any other software that is cheaper that you are aware of?
Adobe DNG converter, it's free. Lightroom 3, about USD250, IIRC.

Thank you all for the help. Will go download dng converter
Another advantage: DNG is a royalty free format, supported by all Adobe software. Whatever you use in future and whatever Canon might do to its RAW format, DNG is still usable.
