Corrupted jpg files

I am trying to help my friend recover her jpg files which is impt for her work.
Tried couple of recovery tools such as Recuva, PixRecovery and filerepair but so far no success.

Also tried renaming the file extension from jpg to psd, tiff, png to see if she saved it in wrong format but not working.

Tried opening with photoshop, Faststone, picasa and paint also failed.

Any advice?

What's the file size?

it is over 1MB in size, not 0 bytes.

OK, had a case where a few were zero after I pulled out the SD card from a Sony tablet even though it was dismounted.
