Hi all,
Need some advise.
Wondering whether the 2 attached pics has Barrel distortion or Pin-cushion distortion?
The landscapre seems to be moving inward. The more i read, the more i get confused.
Also, does all lens have distortion problems?

I've tried to use the new ViewNX2 able to correct this issue.
But dun seems to get it right. Furthermore, it seems to degrade the picture quality.
Suppose to work that way?

Greatly appreciate the advise, thanks!

It's hard to tell if there is or isn't barrel distortion. The main problem is perspective distortion, caused by tilting the camera off-horizontal in order to fit in the tall buildings of the CBD.
Can google for 'keystone effect' or something similar to find out more.

In general most wide-angle lenses tend to have some degree of barrel distortion (center bulges outward relative to the top and bottom). Pincushion tends to be associated with telephoto lenses. But I'm speaking generally only.
