hi all

don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question.
if it's not, mods pls move to appropriate section thanks. :embrass:

i have a minolta z1 and i took a video clip with it (quicktime MOV format).
now i want to transfer this clip to a vcd-r to watch on a normal vcd player.
(just insert the vcd-r and it'll play the clip like a normal vcd.)
may i know how can i do it?
which software is needed?

thanks for the help.
cheers

If you use a Mac, you can try using the software iVCD.

jbma, i used nero to burn to svcd. but when i put the vcd into my dvd player, it doesn't read. keeps saying insert disc.

also my .mov file was shot in PAL format. will this cause any problems?
thanks

try using vcd format, as some dvd players might not be able to play svcd format.

My XMS player claims SVCD support but it doesn't seem to work. It will play VCDs I make my self. Most of the time.

XMS seem to not fully test all combinations before shipping. Given what I paid for it, this isn't surprising...

With video's out of the likes of a Minolta Z1, even transcoding to VCD MPEG1 format is over doing it. Transcoding to MPEG2 for SVCD/DVD seems a waste of time given the lack of quality in the input file in the first place.
