I see more and more newbie users buy first read up later. :nono: tsk..tsk...tsk.
Even with advancement in features and technology you cannot skip the basics in photography even if you only dare to use AUTO mode all the time.
You should at least read up on those basics before buying one. That is the only way to judge whether getting a DSLR is really what you want or a prosumer cam like Panasonic FZ100 is what you actually need.
The cost of a DSLR setup isn't deterring buyers nowadays. If you look at the future, later on, buying high-end lenses,flash,tripod etc,etc.....it's still an expensive hobby.
Not to mention how technical it's still is.
Remember all would-be DSLR owners or you'll end up selling them in a month's time.
