I know very little about the technique, but i like the effects it had on your pictures, especially #1.

Thank you! It's no rocket science actually. Just use a torchlight in a dark room and try! . Makes it easier if you have a DSLR

Nice try! I think #3 works best.

agree with Splutter, #3 is the best. beautiful textures, but i find #2 slightly flat because of the even-ness of the lighting.

#2 is rather flat... not much contrast. Maybe it will be gd to have one of them to be highlighted.

#3 the wording makes the pic interesting. Maybe it will be even nicer if the bottom of the bigger garlic is shot instead of the top part.

Just my 2 cent worth of comment.
