Understand that photography is strictly a no no for concerts. But some concert organizers are more flexible with the rule.

But heard from a fellow cser that the security at Indoor stadium is more strict than expo ?

Is it true?

I also noticed that some Csers managed to take pics with their DSLR at concerts that were held in Expo but hardly any at the indoor stadium..

Wanted to bring DSLR to a concert at indoor stadium. Photos are taken are strictly not for commerical usage.

Any suggestions?

Thanks bro

I noticed that for high profile singers like Jacky Cheung, the security will usually check your bags for photography and videography equipment before you enter.
Experienced that twice, once for Jacky and the other for The Corrs concert. Both were at indoor stadium.

So I am wondering if the strict rules is only imposed for particular venues or is it dependent on the organizer? (i.e Unusual production, rock records and etc)

Btw, saw your pics of the recent Avril Lavigne concert, how on earth did you managed to smuggle a 40D inside?

Paging for Canto for comments too

there was a previous thread in kopitiam whereby people complain about them being asked to leave the concert hall after they were spotted shooting. and it made quite a scene.
u might wanna do a search and check it out
I guess they check equipments for ANY concert before u go in.
By right NO photography is allowed, just go there and enjoy the show
but for avril lavigne's concert, it was stated cameras with no flash was allowed, and my 40D didn have a flash mounted, so i was allowed in. and my frend was with me, so i ''dismantled'' the camera to 3 tiny parts and hide them well.

hi hi, i tink indoor stadium more strict compare to the rest ( expo, suntec...).. n certain organizer (etc..unusual) more strict. and pls DUN disclose which concert u intend to shoot in this forum...coz u duno who's watching etc.(the official photographer, organizer etc ) imagine u shoot better than the official he'll feel very hurt....:bheart: so the solution is to stop all unofficial photographer...

Hated this rule...duno why it's so strict here.
The ticket prices here are already so expensive.

That's why I rather go to the concerts in HK.

Max Pavilion and Indoor Stadium not the same right ?

My friend when for Avenged Sevenfold concert and it was a total chaos.

DSLR with flash and big lense were allowed and ppl using it. but at their own risk as there will be alot of pushing around.

And they smoke inside during the concert.

It's like no rules and total chaos. Fight also started even before going in.

It's in the T's and C's of your concert ticket. Generally, the organisers in Singapore are quite anti-photography.

However, I went to the Michael Buble concert at Indoor Stadium two years ago, and he (ie Michael himself) made a joke about people trying to sneak photos of him with their digicams when he was performing. And he said please, take as many pictures as you want, you paid to come here!

I guess that surprised all the organisers, and after that all the cameras just came on and on and on.

Understand that photography is strictly a no no for concerts. But some concert organizers are more flexible with the rule.
