Hi guys i am planning to get a compact dslr camera for selfies, scenary shots, foods etc i am totally new to camera can recommend me a few so i can do comparison ? my budget is around 500

Thanks! :)

I don't know about using a DSLR for selfies...

lol erm those that can flip the screen one not sure is that call dslr

DSLR refers to something else entirely (look it up if you want). For what you want to shoot, a compact camera would probably be all you need.

Some sites allow you to search for camera options by features / specs.

For eg. http://www.dpreview.com/products/se...aCompact,Compact&paramSpecsLCDNew=Articulated

These are the results of a search for compacts and ultracompacts with articulated / tilting screens

Will leave you to take it from there :)

It's the same as with any other camera: don't forget to pay :bsmilie:
Set your budget, check the shop prices. Contacts for photography shops are in equipment section. Check that you get a local set (not grey sets / sets with shop warranty). For someone not familiar with the topic it's best to have warranty services from local Service Center.
For everything else: check the proper function, zoom, etc. If it takes snaps in the shop it will be fine. If you want to take videos do read up about the required speed rating of the memory cards. The included memory card might not be good enough.

Hi guys! I more or less decided to get sony a5000 for my camera :) tried it and am very happy with it now is there any recommended place to buy it at a good price?

Check the price guides for shops, recent prices (if updated) as well as addresses and phone numbers. Take your phone, give the shops a call and ask for the prices. Some offer e-quotes via email (valid for 7 days). Don't get carried away with freebies (memory card, funky tripods and other stuff), mostly cheap things or you will get the proper type later anyway if you need it.

U wun go wrong with the reputable shops in funan, or MSColor in amk. Shops in funan includes slrr, click, tkfoto and some others.

Just note that some of the shops are kind of anti-Sony. So if you happen to go to John3:16 in funan, don't listen to them spilling craps about Sony cameras. Sony cameras are great (value for money).

Hi guys thanks for the recommendations:) I am checking the price for a5000 and a6000 sorry to trouble you guys again what is the major difference of these 2 camera? ;)

A5000 didn't have an build in electronic viewfinder, but A6000 has.

A6000 had a 24MP sensor but A5000 has a 20MP sensor, which one is good enough for you, nobody knows.

A6000 had an extra anti-dust system (vibration) as compared to A5000 (easier to get dust off the sensor).

A5000 is lighter as compared to A6000.

Actually, if I was you and budget is not a problem, I will get the A6000 over the A5000. The difference I found is worth that extra $$$.

Yup, a6000 is much more worth and probably futureproof for quite some time.
