Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum. I recently bought a Canon EOS 350D camera and I am planning to buy a 55-200mm lens. I went to Peninsula Plaza to check on the ones available and one guy suggested that I buy a SIGMA lens than the original EF-S one.

Any comments and suggestions?

Thanks!

Do a search and you'll get a more or less universal answer... the canon 55-200 is not the best lens on the block, heck, it's just barely decent.

In terms of bang for the buck, get the Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro (~$330?), or better, hang around a bit at the B&S section and you'll see people selling these. The non-DG one (get the Super II) goest for about $220(w/o warranty) while the DG ones will go for ~$270 onwards (depending on condition and warranty).

make sure u buy from a reputable shop... some of these camera shops,, will just anyhow hantam advice to get rid of stock.
