Hi all,

I am a newbie and has taken some photos of flowers at BG over the long weekend. Hope to have some pointers from the seniors. Not too sure whether I should post under this section or under gallery. But think its just a few photos zoo posted under this section. Thanks all :)

First try at BG on 6th April 2012

Well, you could have posted it under a thread in the gallery section.

*btw, did you noticed that for shot #3, your signature seems abit off?*

All look fine technically, some a bit underexposed. But most lacking in mood / feeling.

Like the above the most. A light hearted & cheery pic. Try to present a series following a similar theme/concept when shooting. Example bright/light hearted or dim/moody/elegant etc

i'm not familiar with plant (nature) photography, but this looks nicest among the series.

would have preferred more view of the flower (without leaf blocking bottom right hand corner) and maybe cut back a bit on the water droplets (smaller drops look nicer) =)

It would be better if you post this in the Gallery section. If you have one particular shot you want feedback on the most, post it in the Critique Corner.

Hi all thanks for all the commenrts.

Hi tengpathy, i am a user of canon 1100D with kit lens. Photo taken with kit lens and raynox close up filter 250. Its quite good for close up shots ;)

personally find it technically alright, though underexposed. And it lack a certain mood and feel to it. But this is in the right direction, keep going! :)

nothing shocking. its always the users most of the time then the equipments (although sometimes equipments do help in special circumstances like low light situations), if the users dunno how to use their equipment properly, give them 1Dx also produces medicore photos.

Watch the background. Some of it is distracting especially if you have similar flowers with same colors intersecting from behind.
:)

nice

i like this most among all the pics, but some parts are burnt although you can recover them....
if your pics are "chopped", make sure composition is ok, else flowers to be in full would seem more pleasing....

shot more
cheers ;)

Hi erictan8888, thanks for your comments. Care to explain more what do you mean by chopped? thanks :)

Sorry i mean what do u mean by burnt. Haa. I understand chopped.

burnt means the colours are clipped.....
as in details are lost on certain parts of the pic as they are over exposed....
esp. easy to occur for bright red, yellow and white.....
