Color depth and Camera Cleaning.

Hello,

Just recently move to Singapore from India and am still getting to learn my way around my Canon 20D. I've been somewhat disappointed with my images seeming to be blurry and washed out. I've tried adding a UV filter and also played around with white balance. I don't seem to get near the amount of color in my shots as I see by most of the posts here. Comments or suggestions? Also, can someone recommend a good place locally that does full camera cleaning?

seems that most of the post here have been edited with PS....btw what lens are you using??....not all lenses give the L-lens kinda quality....
