CMOS vs CCD

Some people told me CCD sensors are always better than CMOS sensors. Then why are those DSLRs still using CMOS sensors? Something which I don't understand.... WHY WHY TELL ME WHY?!?!

Sorry for not searching beforehand, but, according to the websites mentioned, they seem to be advocating that CMOS are better than CCD in many ways. Why then are people saying that CCD lenses are always better? This is what I don't understand.

they may be comparing between CCD used in consumer/prosumer digital cameras and CMOS used in webcam/toy digicams. The CMOS used in those webcam digicams are of lower quality, and is very susceptible to noise. That is why some people advocate that CCD is better.

When CMOS is produced at a higher quality level, then the advantages you've been reading about will appear more transparent.

By the way, there is no "CCD lens". CCD is the imaging sensor. Lenses are made of glass or plastic.
