Can anyone advise me what's the difference between CMOS and CCD Sensor?
Which is a better technology? How does it affect photography?
I notice Canon 10D, 300D is using CMOS.

Thanks!

cmos apparently uses less power. the rest of the difference are technical and dont affect me so i dont know. but power has always been an issue for me... hence.

Canon's CMOS sensor is coupled with a good image processor to achieve relatively low noise even at high ISO speeds. Apparently their CMOS technology produces less noise compared to CCD (used in their EOS 1D).

If so, go here, scroll to about 1/3 of the article and read up on "CMOS Versus CCD & What's It All Mean?"

Happy reading! :D

Thanks all. This clears my doubt, I will read up more about it 'cos thinking of investing a DSLR in the near future. ;)
