Singapore is proud to host the inaugural Youth Olympics Games. In celebration of youths and their energy, passion and hope we are pleased to bring you “The Fire of Youth” photo competition with our good friends at Seagate Technology.

The competition gives photographers the opportunity to capture the joy, angst and a myriad of emotions that epitomises the challenges and triumphs young people face at this formative stage of their lives. The Youth Olympic Games provides excellent photo opportunities to capture some of that spirit but you don’t have to be limited by the event. Look at the young people around you for inspiration for that winning shot!

Digital storage has advanced the popularity of digital photography and today we all use external hard drives in our photographic pursuits. Seagate Technology recently announced a complete storage and entertainment solution – the Seagate GoFlex family - which enhances every photographer’s digital experience. With the GoFlex suite you can store and secure your images, access them remotely when you’re travelling as well as share them with your family and friends on the television in the comfort of your living room. Seagate’s BlackArmor NAS family, a suite of network-attached storage solutions, also meets more advanced digital asset management needs with robust backup applications.

For the contest, Seagate Technology has given us a combination of GoFlex products with the BlackArmor NAS as prizes for the best photos submitted by ClubSNAP members.

The competition seeks to capture the spirit of young people. We are looking for photos that embody what young people are all about. Whether it’s a moment of triumph as they cross the finishing line, the anguish as they lose, the sadness as their pet dies or even the anger as they stomp out of a room – it’s all about capturing the moment which speaks of the spirit of our youths.

First place winner will receive US$500 in cash and a BlackArmor NAS 220 2TB (RRP SG$699)

Five runner ups will each receive a GoFlex Ultra-Portable 500GB complete with FireWire 800 cable. (RRP SG$250)

Read on for more details, and give us your best shots!
