ClubSNAP Photography Mentorship Programme 2013

Note: Registration is CLOSED.

ClubSNAP will be giving back to the photography community through this first ever Photography Mentorship Programme. Up to ten budding photographers will be selected and personally mentored by seasoned photographers from TTLA Photography & Services at no cost to the participants. The participants will be able to learn and work alongside these professionals while given exclusive access to private events and behind-the-scenes opportunities at Singapore Biennale 2013, organized by Singapore Art Museum. Participants will also gain rare chances to see how artworks are installed and document this process.

Prerequisites:

1. We are looking for up to 10 enthusiasts who are relatively new to photography and want to learn more about shooting events.
2. Established and/or published photographers working in production houses, photography services companies or paid freelance photographers are not eligible for this programme.
3. Have access to camera equipment with external hotshoe flash (DSLR or Mirrorless).
4. Able to commit several weekends to complementary training and mentorship sessions.
5. Allow Singapore Art Museum to publish a few of your photos with proper credit (You will retain full copyrights to your own photos at all times).

We welcome interested ClubSNAP members to sign up for this Mentorship Programme. You can sign up by sending a PM to moderator daredevil123 by 30th Sep 2013 indicating your interest and the following information:

1. Name.
2. Contact Number.
3. Email.
4. Years of experience using a DSLR/Mirrorless camera.
5. Why would you want to participate in this mentorship programme, and what do you hope to achieve from this programme?
6. Please send internet links to 3 pictures you have shot recently (events or street photography).

ABOUT THE SINGAPORE BIENNALE
The Singapore Biennale was established in 2006 as the country's pre-eminent platform for international dialogue in contemporary art. It places Singapore's artists within a global context, and fosters productive collaborations with the international arts community. In this way, the Biennale provides new opportunities for local visual artists, arts organisations and businesses, and cultivates deeper public engagement with the arts. It complements achievements in other areas of arts and culture, collectively enhancing Singapore's international profile as a vibrant city in which to live, work and play. The 2006 and 2008 editions of the Biennale were organised by the National Arts Council. As with the 2011 edition, Singapore Biennale 2013 is organised by the Singapore Art Museum of the National Heritage Board, and supported by the National Arts Council.

Hi daredevil. =)

I'm interested, but could you give a little bit more detail on "weekends" - what kind of timings are we looking at? =)

For the trainings it will afternoons of Saturdays. But you will be required to shoot some real events as practical. Some may happen at afternoons or nights of Saturdays or Sundays. Will rotate the different participants, so everyone gets to shoot different events, so timings are flexible. For training/critique sessions, if miss, will have to drop out of the programme.

There is an overwhelming response to this programme. We already have more than 60 applicants so far and more coming in. We will give priority to folks who are:
1. newer in photography
2. active in ClubSNAP (BnS and Kopitiam excluded)

Only shortlisted applicants will be notified.

Thanks.
