some questions:

1. can submit a photo taken from ANYTIME? even last year?

2. photo size requirements?

3. what sort of editing allowed?

Film users allowed to join or not?

1. can submit a photo taken from ANYTIME? even last year?
Yes. As long as it fits the theme.

2. photo size requirements?
This will be dependant on the member's quota on the Gallery server. For example, regular members who are not signed up on any Gallery subscription are limited to:-
Maximum image size of 100KB.
Maximum image dimensions of 1000 x 1000 pixels
Medium size image will be generated if dimensions larger than 700 pixels

3. what sort of editing allowed?
The normal image editing rules apply (contrast, brightness, levels, color saturations, sharpening). This is not a digital imaging competition, its a photography competition, so we will disqualify images that are overly digitally manipulated (eg composites).

Definitely. As long as you can scan in and post your image into the Gallery.

Darren,

Think 100kb might be a bit limiting considering the need for quality in these images.. at 640*480, I used quality 7 and still the file size exceeded 100kb..

Hi Darren,
I actually pm you regarding sponsorship. did you recieve my pm ?

regards

Keep the nick anonymous before the contest result might be a good idea.
Fair to those not so "known";) in the CS family and viewer to be objective
in giving their votes. Judges can err..
Reveal the name when the result is out.

i'll buy this idea! like me to shy to comments and post some images, i would consider myself a big losser if my nick appear on my entries....

Any reply from the CS Adm ( Darren) on my suggestion? Is this feasible?
We are looking into it, but the modifications that are needed to be done may not be in time for this competition.
