Hi Pro,

:embrass: Help needed.

I was thinking of getting a close-up or micro filter to shoot ants.
Currently a prosumer cam user, panasonic FZ10, i need something that can fit my camera.

1) Is there such a thing as a micro filter? and what is the different is it from the close-up filter?

2) Saw in some of the threads that there is such a thing as x1, x2, x3, and x4 version. Which is the best to use? If i stack the filter, will it produce a dimmer photo?

3) I need the ants to be enlarge as much as possible, so what combination is better?

4) Roughtly how much each of the filter costs.

Thanks in advance. :embrass:

Rgds,
coldman.

if the ant is not moving (i.e. dead or pinned down) then you might try reversing a 50mm f1.4 or f1.8 lens in front of your FZ10.

:embrass: If they are a line of marching ants?

1) I guess they are the same.

2) It is +1, +2, +3 and +4 diopters. More info, read below links

3) Longer focal length with high diopter value

4) HOYA 52mm one should cost abt $14 more or less.
