Hiee....

I have done my own CCd cleaning twice....for the past months....
I basically use a chopstick(wooden)...wrapping a spectacle lens micro fibre woven cloth i got from one of the optical shops....

it works, for me.....

Disclaimer : The method deviced wa sbased on my personal experience in handling CCDs.....so do it at your own risk. Its best to avoid metalic or very hard tools with sharp corners......

rgds,
sulhan

Some people DIY it using PEC-PADs wrapped ard a piece of plastic spoon handle or whatever.

If u are not too confident abt self-made methods.
Buy the SENSOR SWABS from cathay to do it yourself.
http://www.photosol.com/swabproduct.htm

($90 for 12 swabs...damn expensive...if u can find some one to share its better. maybe get 6 persons and share..2 swabs each...)

I have used it once on my prev Fuji S1, it is quite easy.

Actually if you ain't a fussy/paranoid person, you can do this

1) Detach any lens attached to your DSLR
2) Go to "BULB" mode
3) Relase the shutter
4) Use a strong blower and blow into the CCD area while facing the camera slightly downwards

Tried it on the S2 and D70 and works like a charm, YMMV.

I normally just send in to Nikon for cleaning.
