not definitely BAO JIA for NSC cleaning. I sent my D70s for cleaning and yeah, they did clean off some of the dust but also introduce a few along the way. haha. So, dust is part and parcel. Try cleaning yourself using a good blower like the blue color "Switzerland" brand one or one of those rocket blower. Do a mirror lock up and blow it till its gone.

I dont know how many 26 dollars one has to pay to keep removing dust. get a D300 or something with dust removal...think its pretty efficient.

I sent to NSC once, not happy with their standard, bought my own cleaning kits and clean myself. That is BAO JIA :bsmilie:

Even if the sensors looks like no dust, it is not necessary clean. After those wet cleaning, normally there is those little small circular stain due to residue from the cleaning solution.

You need to really inspect, but taking 2 pieces on a near featureless scene like a wall.

Take 1 pic, move slightly for a distance, take another pic.

Then on your LCD, switch between the 2 pics at maybe near 100% zoom.
Observe if there is any feature found on the pic that is not moving across the 2 pics,
normally looks like circular discs darker in colour. That is the residue left over.

Clean again :)

Circular stains is because there were small particles residing at those locations previously. :)
Blow harder. Ought to be suffice.

No use, there is no particles there at all. It's just showing up, but no any particles,
no amount of blowing helps :) I uses canned air, any all angles blow any amount of time, it doesn't goes away. It's stain there and cannot be removed unless re-clean.

Those stains may be oil on the shutter mechanism of the D3.

#1 IF you can see any SPOTS it on the VIEWFINDER, definitely it is NOT on the sensor.
#2 It is IMPOSSIBLE to have SPOTLESS sensor.
#3 It is very RISKY to DIY sensor cleaning, OVER DOING it will cause more dust or Damage your sensor.

i kinda like notice 1 thing but pls correct me if I'm wrong.
if its a particle on the sensor given the tiniest dust, it shows up like a black dot with fainted circular patch when i view through view finder, but given this may not be 100% proof tt its on the sensor film but can be on the mirror.

But in my D90, i find 3 parts, a-sensor, b-mirror, c-prism  i wonder for the mirror when its down, it can be cleaned, but in mirror lockup mode, how to blow away the particle under the other side of the mirror (if happen to have, :dunno: asking extra)?

2) http://www.sensor-film.com/cleaning.html, spotless :bsmilie:

3) ya very risky, i first time c dust till so gan jiong, worst is DIY den more dust.. got back home quickly try gently, den all removed, leaving viewfinder all clear but like a circular stain in the middle

would you guys kept cleaning the sensor even for the minor stain when there's no solid particle noticeable on the sensor?

I took pic after my first attempt diy cleaning, pic looks fine, i realli dun dare to go and touch it again.
