THK, T=Tokina, H=Hoya, K=Kenko, moose filters are also under them. The Tokina company make lens, Hoya company makes filters, kenko company makes filters and accessories.

Just like B+W and Schneider lens, horseman and voigtlander cameras are under http://www.schneideroptics.com/

i know there are a few different filter sizes of tokina uv for their lenses but they are made by hoya, hoya glass under tokinas name.

Coosina also make a lot of lenses for oylumpus, phoneix, their own consumer lenses cosina.

Hoya and Kenko are from the same company, the main difference is the name. Hoya is the worlds largest supplier of filters. Kenko is the worlds largest supplier of off brand filters. If it's from Japan, has a funny name, and is multicoated then chances are it's a Kenko.

Hoya produce half a dozen different grades of filters, ranging from cheap and nasty to superb.

The top flight Hoya's are on par with B+W in optical terms and in UV filters have higher transmission rates than B+W.

The main difference between Hoya and B+W is the filter rings, and the colour temperature shift in the PL, Hoya have a slightly larger shift.

Reality check time

Filter choices are personal, subjective and like most other camera related purchases are subjected to snob value purchasing patterns.

As for me, I use B+W, Hoya and Nikon PL's. Nikon, Hoya, B&W, Singh-Ray, Hama, Tiffen, Kodak and off brand in other filters.
