hmm. i believe most of us here knows abt the cip system in SG secondary sch. students are supposed to commit at least 6 hours of their time in community services. this topic has probably been debated to death so i wont touch on it.
however lets add a new twist to it.
How abt having a cip system for adults? students are nt skilled. the stuff we students can do are quite limited. such as beach cleaning or flag day. the impact of wad we do are certainly not as significant as what skilled professional adults could do. CIP is supposed to build student's bonding with community. but would it be better to provide a higher quality service while maintaining such a aim?
what if we were to have adults join in the cip? unlike the students version, it is not compulsory. incentives such as tax rebates (like if u donate u get tax rebates kind of stuff), would it help to boost adults into contributing to the less well off of our society? also, students could work with adults and acquire new skills and together may provide a more significant quality of services.
anyone could think of any pros and cons? or maybe solutions to this situation of CIP?
