Day 1
Sunday, 15 September 2013

What a busy crazy Day 1 !!! Volunteers were picking up participants throughout the day from different countries , checking them into Bunchostel, getting everyone registered properly and sorting and unsorting out room allocations .... all before the official opening ceremony that evening at Buona Vista Community Club

Approximately 290 participants, well-wishers, volunteers and sponsors enjoyed an evening of performances and dances

Each team was presented to the public and thanks heartily accorded to valued sponsors

The atmosphere on Day 1 amongst the participants were highly cliquish with everyone sitting in specific country groups, not knowing much about other participants from other countries.

However as the evening drew on, especially after the introductions, the first signs of friend-making started showing

Guest of Honor that evening was a very personable and easy-going Minister Chan Chun Sing

We also had a panel discussion about each country's family values and differing cultures and beliefs

With an early early pre-dawn shoot the next morning, festivities ended by 10pm and everyone back at the hostel before 11pm for some much needed rest

Day 2
Monday , 16 September 2013


Day 2 started with an unGodly 4am wake up call, most participants had just gone to bed about 11.30pm through 1am hours earlier

We headed out for the first stop of the day, Merlion Park. Reaching there at 5am, the waters of Marina Bay were mirror still as everyone broke out their tripods for various renditions of the Merlion and MBS.

By 6am, McDonalds delivered much needed breakfast and drinks for everyone

Our special performers that morning were a group of 4 Astanga Yoga instructors who began their routines at 7am just in time for the Sunrise

We walked over to Cavanagh Bridge at 8am where the ladies continued working hard for everyone shooting

After the Yoga instructors left, participants made their way to Raffles Place to witness the financial heart of Singapore come alive as executives poured out of Raffles Place MRT station

Making our way beneath Fullerton Hotel, we took a much needed break at the Esplanade where apparently quite a few participants were still in the mood for some light hearted fun

With beautiful sunny weather, we made our way past the Floating Platform, Helix Bridge and spent a wonderful windy hour or so up at the MBS SkyPark with a grand view of Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay

Willy Foo provided a short inspirational talk before lunch and Samsung was at hand to introduce their latest S4 Zoom camera phones.

Lunch was at a leisurely pace at the Majestic Bay restaurant before we made our way into both the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest Dome

By 5pm we had finished shooting at the Super Tree Grove and the Skywalk which was specially opened for Crossing Bridges participants

Evening sunset was blazing at Clark Quay followed by dinner at Riverwalk Tandoor
