*** AN OPEN INVITATION ***

Dear Photographers,

Chobi Mela (the Festival of Light) is a bi-annual photography festival held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This year, a much-expanded Chobi Mela III will take place early December.

We are pleased to announce that Dr Shahidul Alam, founder and director of the festival, will be hosting a small talk session in Singapore, to share his experiences and vision of the event. He will also be available to answer questions for photographers who may be interested to take part.

Details ...

Venue: Singapore History Museum Auditorium, Merchant Road, Riverside Point
Date & Time: Sunday, July 4, 1-4 pm
Free admission with light refreshments provided.

Joining him will be Shyam Tekwani, Tay Kay Chin & Darren Soh. All three of them exhibited in Chobi Mela II, back in 2002.
*They will share their experiences. *

In addition, Shyam and Kay Chin have also been invited to be the local liaisons for the Singapore chapter. (more on their roles later)

There will also be a presentation by Ngee Ann Poly student Leonard Goh, who spent seven weeks in Dhaka helping to organise the event. His trip to Dhaka was in part supported by the NYAA Young Photographers Network (YPN).

The theme for Chobi Mela III is RESISTANCE.
*Anyone can send their works to Chobi Mela organiser to be considered. The website and online registration is at www.chobimela.org.

There is absolutely NO NEED to go through the Singapore liaisons. They are also not the one deciding who gets to exhibit. *However, they are happy to share tips or answer any questions pertaining to exhibiting in Chobi Mela III.

You are invited to bring works to discuss with Dr Shahidul Alam.
