Launch of Chingay Parade of DreamS

Look forward to the launch of Chingay Parade of DreamS, accompanied by these special effects!

Flying fox pyro (33 shots to signify Chingay's 33 rd year)

Firecrackers from our Chingay arch, ending with a big bang at the top of the arch

600 strobe lights, flashed around the performing area & audience area

These are some of the opening highlights...:)

Anyone shooting?Bet there must be loads!

looks like this year chingay quite happening siah...
 

Anyone has any idea where would be a good place to shoot?? I bet there will be loads of people crowding both sides of Orchard Rd, so might need to claim a good spot early.
 

Hmm, if you have a very powerful zoom and have a stable and heavy tripod, perhaps you could shoot from the Shaw House carpark for a top-down view.Other than that, everything involves an early stake-out i guess, and mobility during the parade will be atrocious.

Probably on Friday....for Sat not sure, it'll be VERY crowded for sure...
 

I think I heard on the TV news that the parade will end @ chinatown, is it true?
 

I wonder, if they have photographers pass or maybe they have for photography club?

visit www.sony.com.sg/sdw look under their Photography For Fun course. It says it will cover Chingay Parade with entrance ticket inclusive...S$80.

wonder whether it means free-access to the Parade ...???
 

think it's got a ticket included in the course..

"Event is FOC. Viewers may line the streets to watch the parade. However, for tourists who want a better view of the parade, there will be tickets sold at the Singapore Visitors Centre @ Orchard that comes with marked seats to the event. Ticket prices as follow:
Preview - SGD25
Parade - SGD40 (plank seats) - SGD50 (bucket seats)

Tickets can be purchased at the Singapore Visitors Centre @ Orchard from 1 Feb 2005."
