Kicking off the Chinatown Chinese New Year 2014 celebrations is the Official Light-Up and Opening Ceremony. Against a dynamic and hi-tech stage, be entertained by the awe-inspiring staging visual effects and the spectacular live performances choreographed by multi award-winning Dance Choreographer, Mr Zhao Bo Jun. Vivid animations and special effects will complement the musical comprising skits, songs, dance, acrobatic performances and martial arts performed by over 300 performers from Singapore and China performing troupes.
The 3 performing spots along New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street including the main stage area between Temple Street and Pagoda Street will see the musical unfurl with segments involving a romantic pink horse, a golden horse bringing wealth and a wooden horse bringing health. The celebration will culminate in the live firing of firecrackers accentuated by colourful display of fireworks.
