interesting observations there, but i feel that the shots are a bit too empty, as in they might work better if taken as a shot of the masses, and their looming shadows rather than just one person...or perhaps from a higher vantage point...or maybe including another point of interest... the 2nd pic is cool, but tones can be improved to provide greater contrast.

Your shots are well composed. The diagonals of the shadows across the frame balance the pictures well.
