It does look very tranquil. But it belies what is actually happening around. The Summer Palace is one of Beijing top tourist attraction and attract lots of tourists there.

I never thought that BnW images of landscapes can be this good. Something that I must go try now... thanks for sharing them and giving me a new perspective. I totally forgot about this.

The last shot that you posted, the sky looked pretty weird on the right side... is this from over processing the image??
