Checks required for new camera?

Hi i am buying a new camera soon, it will be a 7MP camera. Just wondering what are the checks required on the spot before getting the unit?

Nowadays a 7MP camera do i still need to check on the dead/hot pixel on the LCD and CCD? What are the other crucial checks have to be done, and how?

-Of course you still have to check for hot pixels...both for the CCD and the LCD panels.
-Also check that you have all the supplied accessories that's listed on the box.Some shops remove certain parts to quote a cheaper price.
-Your warranty card is valid for Singapore
-There's no scratches on the lens.
