I have been drinking a wide variety of ( especially ) muscats, prosecco, cremat for more than a year, all the while as a digestif or just a small drink before sleep.

Champagne being champagne from champagne, adds quite a fair bit to their premium. I would love to try out some good champagne ( price means it will not be replacing my daily drink like the muscatos ). What are some of your favourite champagnes and where do you usually buy them ?

I would love to try Moet , Vueve, Krug. I heard good things about Piper as well.

You should try Dom Perignon. The bubbles linger longer and the aftertaste is pleasant on the palate.

Important to have your champagne chilled sufficiently, and an ice bucket handy. In Singapore's climate, the bottle / flute warms up fast.

Krug, personally, I find is a bit harsh, much prefer DP as it is smoother. I normally buy my champagne overseas or at the airport. Sometimes you can get pretty good deals.

Cheers

Will be going on a holiday in October.
I should be picking 2 bottles. I am not sure what Changi carries though. I heard they carry Vueve

Dom Tyler Perignon, Cristal and Armand de Brignac. Too much of a hip hop fan.
Cristal did p*ss off some of the hip hop dudes didn't they :)

I will keep a look out for the Perignons

Anyone tried shipping alcohol into Singapore before ?
I heard local customs used to tax per bottle, and later after that they taxed the percentage alcohol per bottle instead.
I figure dessert wines , champagnes and the likes having lowered alcohol content would hurt the pocket less.

Muscat is not champagne.

Produce from certain region can call it champagne.

Others who produce the same thing but in another place have to call it sparkling wine.

Yup I am well aware of that, hence I made earlier mention that I would like to try champagne for ( an occasional ) change. The european appellations actually went quite a long time back. Few american companies took advantage of it until the not too long ago US regulations.
