Interesting concept. The B&W version has too high contrast for my liking.

Can we try to print everything in Grade One? ;)

Most often than not, content is the way to go.
The execution is the style that one adopts.
It is not too bad either to break the rules sometimes.

We learn to absorb different styles and appreciate
a fellow photographer’s execution when we have
the full range of the grey scale at our disposal.

Soon we will have to go back a little bit to history
to appreciate the traditionalists in order to execute
the up and coming pop crazy digital art that every
who dares to try. Mind you, your eyes on the
monitor screens... ;p

The reason I do a lot of black and white
is because I really love the tonality of B&W film.
More importantly, because I have done, and still do,
a lot of archival architectural photography.
It is required that the prints and negatives be archival quality.
That is a 400 year or more life span for the images.
Color and digital simply cannot meet that requirement.
I wrote a book about this issue in 1994 in which archival
requirements are described. - Rick Athearn
