between the both, I'll go for Ridata. The Ridata 8Gb version survived and functioned perfectly on Mt. Fuji during winter.

Else, get the Sandisk Extreme III or IV for more peace of mind if you don't mind spending abit more.

Between the two cards, I dunno which is better..
I have tested the Transcend and did not have a very good impression of it.

Yup.. A few cases have been reported of fake CF Cards.. Here's a guide:

Not sure about 1GB price but I just bought 3 4GB Kingston Ultimate from a Singapore eBayer a few days ago. Collected them yesterday, verifiy with Kingston and they appears to be authentic Kingston CF Cards.. Here's the link of the seller:
