Get the Sandisk one... expensive but read at high speed..... its $$$ well spend..... rather than those cheapo $10-20 type.... you start transferring huge raw file now.... probably will finish by Christmas....:sweat::devil:...... get it from most retail shop....

The 95MB/s is the maximum interface speed of the card, nothing else. The final transfer speed is also defined by the USB port, chipset and system load. Get a branded reader (e.g. Sandisk). Not sure whether there are already USB3 types out, some computers have it already or you can get the USB3 cards.

Adapter and reader are 2 different thing.

He is talking about the Extreme SD to CF adapter... anybody tried it before? By the way, is there a way (software) to test the speed of the memory cards?

It depends on how fast the controller on the CF adapter is.

You can use any software which test read/write for HDD, it is the same.

The fastest CF cards are still faster than this 95MB/s SD card. Therefore (and provided that the reader is connected fast enough to the host computer) there should not be any impact on speed. But then again: the 95MB/s are the ideal maximum which is hardly met in any real life test.
It does not need much software. Just use a large image file (CD image, DVD image) and push it to the card. Stop the time. Many file copy programs also show the speed based on file size and time to finish to job. A single large file will show the best possible results. Many small files will create additional overhead that slow down the transfer.

Few posibilities, you wanted to use an eye-fi card on a camera which only accepts CF. You only have SD cards but your camera only accepts CF and does not want to purchase anymore cards.

oh okie.... hmmm.... but thats a lot more hassle then just poping in the correct card... anyway.... TS happy can already...
