celebrity gazing events

anybody knows how to take a good photo whenever there is a celebrity event like roadshows and red carpet and gala premieres where there's bound to be many people crowding??? I'm currently using Sony DSC-W50 cybershot but encountered problem taking nice photos. Can somebody enlighten me with this?
