Was at Sim Lim today and saw 2 products that could burn CDs directly from memory cards.

- Apacer Disc Steno ($359)
- Fotobar ($450)

Both has batteries and therefore can burn CDs on the field. Disc Steno has a verify feature which Fotobar doesn't.

Fotobar is also a DVD player which can play DVDs & photos to a TV.

Anybody has more info/reviews on these type of devices?

There's also this - http://www.eastgear.com/vizor/

Prices from US$299 / S$549

Very attractive price, but potential problem?
"The only problem I see is if you have more data on the flash card (or Microdrive) than the capacity of the CD. With the rapidly dropping prices of 1GB (and larger) CF cards and 1GB (and soon 4GB) Microdrives more people are using them. There is no option for spanning multiple discs -- or if there is I didn't see any mention of it."

i think the Vizor has a disk spanning option...

Which shops in SLS are selling the Steno/Fotobar?

east gear needs ac power and no batteries. Was thinking of getting but it would not be useful when outdoors and you have no power source

Maybe you can ask them to help mod an external battery pack for it. I've seen one that they are using at their shop.

The DVDR burner looks good... yeah... if only it has the ability to autorotate the JPG and remove the rotate tag after it's done so. (I've got programs that rotate, but doesn't remove the tag and totally messes up different viewers)
