Is it possible to mount a Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 1.4/50mm lens on a Canon or Nikon DSLR? If yes, which adapter do you recommend?
Thanks!

Are you referring to this lens: https://lens-db.com/carl-zeiss-jena-biotar-50mm-f14/ ?
If yes, then you have a M39 mount (also called Leica LTM). Flange distance is shorter than Canon EF or Nikon F mount, therefore you need an adapter with optical element.
I think you better look at m43 or Sony bodies for this lens, this combination would not require any optical element in the mount adapter.

I see! So Sony is the winner. Sony a7s or any full frame Sony "E" mount I guess.
What kind of adapter do I need for the Sony full frame cameras?
I need a lens which has a M42 mount for Sont E mount, I guess, right?

If it is indeed the lens I found, then it is M39, not M42. You will need an adapter M39 to Sony E mount.

I see! Thanks!
